Idol Shikkaku

Based on the acclaimed romance novel by NMB48’s Wakana Abe, this long-awaited manga adaptation explores a taboo relationship between an idol and her most devoted fan. Keita is an unremarkable college student harboring deep feelings for Mimika, the charismatic leader of the rising idol group Tetra. Fully aware that his affection can never be reciprocated in any conventional sense, he dedicates himself entirely to supporting her career from the audience. Meanwhile, despite Tetra’s growing fame and her quiet appreciation for Keita’s unwavering devotion, Mimika struggles with mounting anxiety about what lies ahead. Their carefully maintained distance shatters when tragedy strikes. After Mimika’s mother is severely injured in a traffic accident, the young idol spirals into despair. Desperate for comfort and unable to rely on her public persona, she turns to social media to track down Keita’s part-time job. In a bold departure from everything expected of her, Mimika seeks him out in person, crossing the forbidden boundary between star and supporter and setting their lives on an irreversible new course.
