Wana Girl

Eighteen-year-old Asahina Chiyomaru is an ordinary high school girl living in a quiet rural town, but her daily life carries an extraordinary responsibility. Born into a family of farmers, she has grown up witnessing the constant damage that wild animals inflict on their agricultural fields. Determined to protect her family's livelihood, Chiyomaru has taken matters into her own hands by officially obtaining a Trapping License, granting her the legal authority to capture the wildlife that threatens their crops. Rather than relying on brute force, she approaches her work with careful strategy and patience. The manga unfolds at a leisurely pace, grounding its narrative in the realistic details of her trapping methods as she navigates the rugged countryside. What begins as a simple chore quickly evolves into a serious battle of wits between the young trapper and the cunning creatures she pursues. Each encounter tests Chiyomaru’s knowledge, adaptability, and resolve as the animals constantly challenge her efforts. Through this ongoing struggle, the story offers a unique and grounded perspective on rural life, blending the everyday experiences of a teenage girl with the demanding realities of wildlife management and agricultural preservation.
