Onna no Karada ga Iya nano de Mune o Torimashita

In this deeply personal manga, the non-binary author—someone who identifies as neither male nor female—chronicles their transformative journey toward undergoing top surgery. Driven by a profound discomfort with their physical form, they make the pivotal decision to alter their body so that it more accurately reflects their true identity. Rather than presenting a fictionalized narrative, the work serves as an intimate autobiographical account, offering readers a raw and honest look into the life-changing choice to pursue surgical intervention. Structured as a series of reflective essays, the manga meticulously documents every stage of the experience. The narrative begins with the careful planning and preparation required before the operation, detailing the emotional and logistical hurdles involved in making such a significant medical decision. From there, it transitions into a candid exploration of the surgery itself and the realities of the recovery period that follows. By sharing these firsthand accounts, the author provides a comprehensive look at both the challenges and the relief associated with the process. Ultimately, this collection stands as a poignant testament to self-determination, capturing the full spectrum of emotions tied to reshaping one's body and embracing one's authentic self.
