Mourning Demon

When Akio returns to his hometown, the familiar surroundings stir unsettling memories of Yuka, a childhood friend who vanished without a trace ten years ago during what should have been an ordinary afternoon of play. Strangely, none of the other friends who were present that day can recall any details of her disappearance. For Akio, however, the recollections are vivid and deeply disturbing, haunted by visions of grotesque, terrifying creatures lurking at the edges of the event. He has spent years convincing himself that these horrifying images were nothing more than childhood nightmares born from trauma. That fragile sense of denial shatters completely when one of his friends arrives in town only to disappear under identical, inexplicable circumstances. The chilling parallel forces Akio to confront a terrifying reality: the monstrous figures from his past were never figments of his imagination. He and his remaining friends are being hunted by something far beyond human understanding. As the unseen threat draws closer, Akio is left with a desperate and haunting question—who, or what, has been watching them all along?
