Shinkaigyo no Anko-san

In the town where human high schooler Wakasa Otomi lives, fish people have become a welcomed and well-integrated part of society. These unique individuals retain the distinct physical traits of their respective aquatic species but rely on special medication to maintain human legs instead of tails. Otomi harbors a deep fascination for fish people and eagerly seeks out every opportunity to meet as many of them as possible. Her enthusiasm leads her to cross paths with a newly transferred classmate named Tsutsumi Anko, a girl whose species is the lanternfish. Unlike some of her more conventionally appealing peers, Anko struggles with self-consciousness regarding her deep-sea origins, feeling that her tail lacks the charm found in other fish girls. As the two grow closer at school, they navigate a blend of extraordinary aquatic challenges and the relatable, everyday dilemmas typical of ordinary teenage life. Together, Otomi and Anko face a world where the wonders of marine biology intersect seamlessly with the familiar hurdles of high school.
