Koi no Jumon

Mihara, a cram school instructor aspiring to secure a teaching position at his former high school, has just endured yet another painful breakup. Determined to prove his heterosexuality after being dumped, he visits a gay bar, only to catch the attention of Shouta, an openly gay high school student. Shouta leads him out of the establishment and boldly makes his romantic intentions known. Deeply unsettled by the encounter, Mihara firmly insists he could never be attracted to a man—a declaration that triggers a distant memory of speaking those exact words to a friend years ago. The situation grows far more complicated the following day when Shouta unexpectedly appears at the elementary-level prep school where Mihara works. To Mihara's astonishment, he discovers that Shouta is currently enrolled at the very high school where he hopes to teach. Undeterred by Mihara’s constant rejections, Shouta confesses his feelings and persistently refuses to leave him alone. Yet beneath Shouta’s cheerful demeanor lies a hidden past with unexpected depth. Despite his resistance, Mihara finds himself increasingly drawn to the younger man, struggling against the lingering weight of the curse he unknowingly placed upon himself long ago when he turned away someone who once cared for him.
