Sharakuna: Kaiki Shinrei Kenbunroku

A young, easily frightened editor finds himself thrust into a deeply uncomfortable professional role when he is assigned to manage the enigmatic novelist Sharakuna. Despite his chronic tendency to faint at the slightest hint of anything terrifying, the junior editor must navigate the demands of an elusive and eccentric author whose reputation precedes him. The assignment quickly proves far more daunting than any ordinary publishing deadline. Sharakuna declares that he has fallen into a severe creative slump, insisting that conventional inspiration is no longer sufficient to complete his latest manuscript. To break through this artistic block, the mysterious writer claims he requires genuine, firsthand exposure to real terror. Rather than conducting solitary research, he persuades his reluctant editor to accompany him on a chilling journey to various notorious haunted locations. What follows is an unsettling expedition into the supernatural, as the terrified editor is dragged from one eerie hotspot to another in service of the novelist’s craft. Forced to confront his deepest fears while navigating a world of paranormal phenomena, the young man must find the courage to survive each harrowing encounter so that Sharakuna can finally finish his work.
