Jirai-kei Kareshi Suzu-kun

Suzu is a gloomy college student with poor communication skills who completely shuts out the outside world behind a mask and has no friends. His solitary life is upended when he loses his treasured mascot, "Kappa-chan." The person who finds and returns it is Sasamuro Aiji, a popular, handsome playboy surrounded by pretty girls. Eager to flee, Suzu is instead tormented by Aiji, who teases him mercilessly and brings him to tears before finally returning the mascot—though it is unfortunately damaged, plunging Suzu into despair. The following day, Aiji forces himself back into Suzu's life, using him as a human shield to escape a mob of adoring fans. Utterly indifferent to Suzu's visible disdain, Aiji demands gratitude for retrieving the damaged toy. When an exasperated Suzu bluntly snaps, "A cheery person like you is a land mine!", Aiji suddenly leans in and kisses him right through his mask. Thus begins an unlikely romance between two total opposites: a timid, isolated loner and an outgoing, handsome socialite, bound together by the mysterious and beloved Kappa-chan.
