Lonely Deaths Lie Thick as Snow

What begins as a standard police response to a reported break-in at an unoccupied estate quickly spirals into a nightmare for Jin Saeki, an overconfident young detective. Instead of finding petty thieves, he stumbles upon a horrifying scene: the lifeless bodies of thirteen children scattered throughout the property. Compounding the brutality of the discovery is a bizarre symbol left behind at the site, hinting at motives far more sinister than a simple robbery. This chilling evidence immediately triggers a massive manhunt targeting Juzo Haikawa, the enigmatic and absent owner of the mansion. For Jin, however, the case rapidly transcends professional duty. The sheer scale of the atrocity ignites a relentless obsession within him, transforming the investigation into a deeply personal crusade. Driven by an unyielding need for answers, Jin’s pursuit stretches across the breadth of Japan. His journey forces him to confront not only the physical trail left by a dangerous suspect but also the buried horrors of history itself. Ultimately, this harrowing quest pushes the young detective into the most terrifying depths of both the past and the human psyche, forever altering who he is.
