Musubenai Necktie

Every morning before boarding the train to their respective schools, Ren and Nachi share a quiet, familiar ritual. Though they attend different academies, the older Ren has made it his habit to help the younger Nachi straighten his necktie before their daily commute begins. What started as a simple gesture of assistance has gradually evolved into an unspoken routine that anchors both of their mornings. However, Ren soon finds himself troubled by the possibility that onlookers might misinterpret the nature of their closeness. This anxiety forces him to confront a startling truth: his concern stems not merely from public perception, but from genuine romantic feelings he harbors for Nachi. Overwhelmed by this realization, Ren resolves to create distance between them, hoping to halt the progression of his emotions before the situation becomes unmanageable. Determined to step back, Ren believes that pulling away is the most responsible course of action. Yet, his decision raises a difficult question. While Ren thinks separation is necessary, it remains entirely uncertain whether this sudden withdrawal is truly what Nachi desires or if it will only leave the younger boy bewildered by the loss of their cherished morning tradition.
