Art student Zhong Shenxiu has hit an unexpected creative wall. During a routine drawing class, she finds herself completely unable to capture her subject on paper: Xu Ke, the school’s model student. No matter how hard she focuses, his features remain frustratingly blurred in her vision, making it impossible for her to sketch him accurately. Defeated, she sets down her paintbrush and begins to wonder if the problem isn’t her artistic skill, but the distance between them. Driven by this peculiar dilemma, Zhong Shenxiu forms a bold theory. Perhaps if she transforms herself into a better student, she can bridge the gap that separates her from Xu Ke. Step by step, she hopes that improving herself will draw him closer, allowing her to see him just a little more clearly with each passing day. Her ultimate goal is to close the space between them entirely until the distance becomes negative—until they are standing face to face. When that moment finally arrives, the haze lifts, and she sees him perfectly for the first time. Yet, as the clarity she worked so hard to achieve washes over her, Zhong Shenxiu realizes something startling. Getting exactly what she wished for might come with consequences she never anticipated, leaving her to question whether seeing him this clearly is truly what she expected.
