The Lord-Magear’s Apprentice

Years ago, a young mercenary named Gall owed his life to Kuon, a magician of immense power and high standing. Now older and hardened by his trade, Gall accepts what seems like a straightforward commission: joining an order of knights on a mission to hunt down and defeat a dangerous wizard. However, the operation quickly spirals into disaster when the knights are ambushed. The devastating force that effortlessly crushes the entire company does not come from some unknown enemy, but from Kuon himself, who unleashes a terrifying, eldritch power upon them. Miraculously surviving the slaughter, Gall finds himself stripped of allies, purpose, and any clear path forward. With no other options left to him, he is forced into an unthinkable arrangement—becoming the personal apprentice of the very mage who annihilated his comrades. The situation is made even more precarious by a glaring disadvantage: Gall possesses absolutely no magical ability of his own. Bound to a master wielding unfathomable and destructive forces, the powerless mercenary must navigate a perilous new existence where his survival depends entirely on the enigmatic sorcerer who once saved his life.
