Yuujin Character wa Taihen desu ka?

Kobayashi Ichirou has found the ultimate protagonist, and it happens to be his closest high school friend, Hinomori Ryuuga. From their very first meeting, Ichirou recognized that Ryuuga possessed all the classic hallmarks of an anime lead, a suspicion that quickly solidified into absolute certainty. Ryuuga never discusses his past, frequently slips out of class without explanation, and returns looking utterly exhausted—his uniform torn and blood on his lips. To complicate matters further, he constantly attracts a cast of stunning girls: Yukimiya Shiori, the school’s idol; Aogasaki Rei, a cool and skilled swordswoman; and Elmira McCartney, a mysterious transfer student. Whenever these heroines approach, Ichirou is forced into exhausting theatrics, frantically playing the part of the bewildered best friend who stammers out exaggerated reactions to every romantic development. Yet he embraces this grueling role willingly. As a self-proclaimed professional in the art of being a supporting character, Ichirou considers it his life’s calling to uphold Ryuuga as the ultimate protagonist. This is the story of a comedic romance told not from the hero's perspective, but through the dedicated efforts of his co-starring best friend.
