Official Details

Zipangu Night is an anthology of short horror stories framed by the perspective of a mysterious narrator who hails from a distant, utopian future. Looking back across time, this enigmatic figure chronicles the dark and disturbing horrors born from the societal issues plaguing contemporary Japan. Through their unsettling accounts, the manga explores how the hidden anxieties and deep-seated problems of modern life manifest into terrifying nightmares, offering a chilling critique of the present day through the eyes of someone from a seemingly perfect tomorrow. The collection is composed of several distinct tales, each delving into its own unique brand of dread. Among the featured stories are "The Rat Girl," "Mr. Reaper," "What's Behind," "The Faceless Ghost," and "Fukusuke-kun." The anthology continues with further bizarre encounters in "Who's that Girl!?", before concluding with a final sequence of harrowing narratives titled "Onibaba," "My Beloved Gongo," and "Boy's Death Group." Together, these interconnected chapters weave a tapestry of psychological terror and supernatural unease, all bound by the overarching voice of a traveler warning readers about the grim realities lurking just beneath the surface of modern society.
