Mikan Jirou

Legend tells of a miraculous orange that plummeted from the heavens directly into the waiting hands of a young woman. Upon peeling its rind, she discovered a miniature boy nestled within. Overjoyed by this extraordinary gift, she named him Mikan Jirou and brought him home, where they settled into what should have been a peaceful, happy life together as a family. However, this idyllic beginning quickly veers far off its expected path. Instead of enjoying domestic tranquility, Mikan Jirou finds himself thrust onto an unexpected journey alongside a peculiar companion: a frog who insists he is actually a royal prince transformed by a witch’s curse. Together, this mismatched pair embarks on an adventure that defies all logic and tradition. What begins as a simple tale of miraculous birth spirals into a bizarre quest filled with eccentric encounters and absurd predicaments. This manga delivers a sharp, comedic reimagining of the beloved Japanese folk tale Momotaro. By subverting the familiar beats of the classic story and introducing wildly unconventional characters, it transforms a traditional narrative into a fresh and humorous exploration of folklore gone delightfully wrong.
