Touhou Ibarakasen: Wild and Horned Hermit

Building upon the rich legacy of the Touhou series, this manga continues the narrative tradition established by acclaimed predecessors such as Silent Sinner in Blue, Inaba of the Moon & Inaba of the Earth, and the Sangetsusei trilogy. The story introduces a compelling new chapter set within the familiar boundaries of Gensokyo, where an unexpected encounter sets a mysterious chain of events into motion. The plot unfolds when Marisa discovers an enigmatic hermit lingering just outside the Human Village. Intrigued by this unusual figure, she recounts the encounter to Reimu. However, their conversation is quickly overshadowed by a startling development: the very same hermit is spotted covertly moving around the grounds of the Hakurei Shrine. This shadowy intruder is revealed to be Kasen Ibaraki, a peculiar ascetic wrapped in bandages whose true nature and abilities remain entirely unknown. Despite her cryptic appearance and secretive behavior, Kasen possesses a remarkably deep understanding of both Marisa and Reimu, along with the hidden workings of Gensokyo itself. Her awareness far surpasses anything either of them could anticipate, setting the stage for an intriguing dynamic that challenges everything they thought they knew about their world.
