In the bustling city of Monstropolis, Sulley and Mike are dedicated employees at Monsters, Inc., the largest scream processing facility in existence. Their daily routine revolves around harvesting the frightened cries of children to power their world, a job they handle with practiced ease. However, their ordinary lives are turned upside down when a small human child named Boo unexpectedly crosses over into the monster realm. In a startling twist, it is not the child who trembles in fear, but the monsters themselves, who find themselves terrified by her sudden appearance. Driven by the widespread belief that human children are highly toxic and dangerous, Sulley and Mike take it upon themselves to return Boo safely to her bedroom before she can cause any harm. What begins as a simple mission quickly spirals into a daunting challenge, as the two friends discover that getting a human child back to her own world is far from easy. Along the way, they must navigate a series of monstrous hurdles that threaten to derail their efforts, testing their resolve and forcing them to confront the very fears their society was built upon.
