When Sakura Mamiya was a young child, she vanished without explanation in the forest behind her grandmother’s house. Though she eventually returned completely unharmed, the unsettling incident left her with an enduring and unwanted ability: she can see ghosts. Now navigating her teenage years, Sakura is exhausted by the constant presence of restless spirits and desperately wishes they would simply leave her in peace. Her daily life at school offers little relief from the strange. Since the academic year began, the desk beside hers has remained conspicuously vacant. That changes abruptly when Rinne Rokudo, her perpetually absent classmate, finally makes an appearance. However, his sudden arrival reveals that he is far more complex than a typical student skipping class. As Sakura struggles to manage her supernatural burden, Rinne’s mysterious nature suggests that her quiet hope for a normal life may be about to take an unexpected turn.
