In the year 2038, a crew of scavengers breaches an industrial complex situated on an island within a restricted zone, seeking Texmexium—a rare and highly valuable element. The facility's automated defenses quickly slaughter the intruders, leaving only Brooklyn, the group's mechanic, alive. Amidst the ruins, he encounters a stranded Texas Air Ranger and two children surviving in the wreckage. To escape the island and warn humanity of the dangers lurking within, they must destroy Kyron-5, the complex's controlling computer. Brooklyn uncovers a dormant combat robot known as a GUNHED—an acronym for "Gun UNit Heavy Elimination Device"—a relic from a previous military battalion dispatched to eliminate Kyron-5. He dedicates himself to restoring the machine to working order. Meanwhile, Babe, a fallen member of the scavenger crew, has been resurrected as a bio-droid. Now driven by a new directive, she hunts Sergeant Nim to reclaim the stolen Texmexium. To rescue his allies and finally shut down Kyron-5, Brooklyn must confront his deep-seated fear of flying and pilot the GUNHED to the summit of the complex's towering structure. Standing between him and victory is the computer's sole major line of defense: a formidable robotic guardian known as the Aerobot.
