In the Name of the Mermaid Princess

Princess Mio is bound by an arranged betrothal to Prince Chika, a man she has never met and who remains entirely unaware of her most guarded truth: she is a mermaid. Confined within the walls of her royal home, Mio struggles to reconcile her hidden nature with the expectations placed upon her. Everything begins to shift when her tutor, Yuri, escorts her beyond the castle gates to walk among her people. Through these experiences outside the palace, Mio gradually learns to embrace her true identity, though she soon discovers that Yuri harbors a profound secret as well. Emboldened by her journey of self-discovery, Mio approaches her father, the king, with a heartfelt plea to live openly as a mermaid rather than hiding behind a facade. Instead of understanding, she is met with harsh punishment for her honesty. Now caught between royal duty, a looming marriage to an uninformed prince, and the wrath of her own father, Mio faces a daunting dilemma. She must find the courage to navigate a world that demands her silence and determine how to remain faithful to herself when the cost of authenticity is so steep.
