The Sound of You

While working in a mascot costume, a young boy experiences an unexpected encounter that quietly shifts his world. Hidden behind the oversized, cheerful exterior of his character suit, he goes about his daily routine, accustomed to being seen as nothing more than the costume he wears rather than the person inside it. The anonymity of the role offers a strange comfort, allowing him to move through crowds without drawing attention to his true self. However, a chance collision with an unfamiliar individual disrupts this comfortable invisibility. In that brief, accidental moment of contact, something about the other person immediately captures his focus and refuses to let go. Though concealed beneath layers of fabric and foam, he finds himself unexpectedly drawn to this stranger, sparking a quiet but powerful curiosity that pierces through his disguise. This single, fleeting intersection sets the stage for a story about connection, identity, and the subtle ways people can reach one another even when hidden from plain sight.
