Makui no Rease

In a world where sorcery is woven into the fabric of daily life, criminal investigations face an extraordinary obstacle. Whenever magic is employed in the commission of a crime, apprehending the perpetrator becomes a nearly impossible task for conventional law enforcement. The arcane nature of these offenses leaves investigators without reliable evidence or means of pursuit, allowing dangerous criminals to evade justice with impunity. Anne, a dedicated investigator serving the royal palace, navigates this frustrating reality on a daily basis. Tasked with upholding the law within the kingdom, she finds her efforts continually thwarted by the very magical forces that define her society. Her struggle to bring magically empowered offenders to justice seems endless until a chance encounter changes everything. One day, Anne crosses paths with a mysterious boy who possesses a truly unprecedented ability: he can consume magical power itself. Recognizing the immense potential of his unique gift, she enlists his help. Together, they form an unlikely partnership, taking on the complex cases involving magic that have long plagued the royal investigators and finally turning the tide against those who hide behind sorcery.
