When the Literature Club's chairs are borrowed by other organizations, leaving behind just a single seat, Shou and Yuzu find themselves alone together in the clubroom. A polite yet stubborn debate immediately ensues as neither member is willing to take the chair, each insisting out of pure consideration that the other should rest. Refusing to back down, Yuzu ultimately manages to get her way, leaving Shou seated alone while she stands. Overcome with a sudden sense of guilt for being the only one taking a rest, Shou's mind races to find a clever solution to the seating dilemma. Believing he has found the ultimate compromise, he reasons that if he is already occupying the seat, he can simply become the chair itself—paving the way for his petite, intellectual senior to sit comfortably right upon his lap.
