The Saintess has a Showdown

Within the revered halls of the Sea Concubine Palace, a young woman holds the prestigious title of Saintess. During her sacred summoning ceremony—a pivotal rite meant to bind a powerful soul pet to its master—the ritual yields an unexpected result. Instead of calling forth a majestic or fearsome creature befitting her high status, she summons a water elemental, widely regarded as the lowest-ranked companion a summoner could possibly receive. This underwhelming outcome immediately sparks disbelief and ridicule among those who witness it. Onlookers openly question how a figure of such divine standing could be paired with something as ordinary as a basic water spirit, insisting that her destined partner should have been a formidable entity like the mighty Water Emperor. The whispers and doubts quickly surround the newly appointed Saintess, casting a shadow over what was supposed to be her moment of triumph. Meanwhile, the summoned water elemental is just as bewildered by the situation. Far from being an ancient or ambitious beast, this self-proclaimed rookie spirit cannot fathom why it was chosen at all. Panicking under the weight of sudden expectations, the little elemental protests its own mediocrity, desperately asking the Saintess why she would ever select someone so ordinary to stand by her side.
