However, her expectations are quickly upended when she falls deeply in love with Modeus, a promising young knight recently appointed to the king's guard. What begins as a sudden and overwhelming romantic attraction soon draws Lucia far beyond the familiar boundaries of palace etiquette and into the hidden depths of the kingdom's secrets. As their connection grows, Lucia is thrust into a world of magic and mystery upon discovering an astonishing truth about the object of her affection: Modeus is not a man at all, but rather an enchanted suit of armor entirely devoid of a soul.
