Niemiko

Sumika Yagatame is a high school student born into a family dedicated to serving at a local shrine. Unlike ordinary people, she possesses the unsettling ability to see strange supernatural entities that remain invisible to everyone else. Despite this unique perception, Sumika lives in the shadow of her younger sister, whose spiritual talents far surpass her own. Constantly measured against her sibling and treated as nothing more than a disappointing replacement, Sumika has grown deeply weary of her role as the family’s spare. Her fragile existence shatters during the shrine’s monthly full moon prayer ritual. In the midst of the sacred ceremony, a powerful demon that had been sealed deep within Sumika’s body is suddenly unleashed, plunging everyone present into immediate peril. Just as the situation spirals out of control, a mysterious youkai intervenes to save them from disaster. This enigmatic being takes an instant interest in Sumika, cheerfully dubbing her the “Sacrificial Princess” and pulling her into a world far more dangerous than she ever imagined.
