Kamisama no Tomurai

In a distant future where Earth has undergone a profound transformation, machines are no longer mere tools but objects of reverence. Robots have ascended to the status of deities, worshipped by humanity in a world where the line between creator and creation has blurred beyond recognition. Shion, a young apprentice priestess devoted to this mechanical faith, is dispatched on a solemn duty. She journeys to an isolated village far from the bustling centers of civilization, tasked with officiating the funeral rites for one of these fallen "gods." However, what begins as a routine ceremonial obligation quickly unravels into something far more complex. Upon her arrival, a local villager approaches Shion with an urgent plea, asking her to look past the sacred rituals and investigate the unsettling mystery surrounding the deceased machine's passing. Drawn into a web of unanswered questions, the young priestess finds herself caught between her spiritual obligations and the hidden truths buried within the remote settlement. Kamisama no Tomurai unfolds as a poignant science fiction elegy, exploring the fragile and intricate bonds woven between humans and the robots they have chosen to worship.
