The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku

Asano is a young university student who receives an unusual assignment from his school's technology department. He has been chosen to test their most ambitious project yet: a remarkably lifelike android named Hatsune Miku. Designed to mimic human behavior and interaction, she represents the cutting edge of artificial intelligence, though she still has much to learn about navigating the complexities of the real world. Tasked with guiding her development, Asano spends his days evaluating Miku's responses and helping her adapt to everyday situations. What begins as a straightforward academic responsibility gradually shifts as he observes her subtle growth. Despite her mechanical origins, her evolving personality challenges everything he thought he understood about consciousness and emotion. As their time together deepens, Asano finds it increasingly difficult to view Miku as nothing more than a sophisticated piece of laboratory equipment. The boundary between researcher and subject blurs, leading them both on an unexpected journey of discovery. Together, the young student and the android begin to explore the true meaning of life and love, finding connection in a relationship that defies conventional understanding.
