SHIMONETA: A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn’t Exist

Sixteen years have passed since the government enacted the Law for Public Order and Morals in Healthy Child-Raising, a sweeping mandate that eradicated all coarse language and indecent concepts from society. In this strictly regulated world, Tanukichi Okuma enrolls at the nation’s most prestigious public morals academy, hoping to build a respectable future. However, his carefully planned academic life is upended when he crosses paths with Ayame Kajou, the enigmatic founder of the underground Anti-Societal Organization known as SOX. Through blackmail, Ayame forces Tanukichi into her ranks, dragging him into a covert rebellion against the country's oppressive purity laws. As an unwilling operative of SOX, he finds himself participating in shocking acts of obscene terrorism designed to challenge the sanitized status quo. His predicament becomes deeply personal when these subversive missions target the school’s brilliant student council president, Anna—a young woman Tanukichi secretly admires. Caught between his genuine feelings for Anna and the compromising demands of his blackmailer, Tanukichi must navigate a treacherous double life where every rebellious act threatens to destroy the person he cares about most.
