Soukai Kessen

The island nation of Tsushima is home to three distinct races: the Akitsu, who form the eighty-percent majority; the Shiomi, who occupy the upper ten percent of society; and the Oina, a small minority recognized by their feline ears and tails. Alongside this diverse population, Tsushima is renowned for its formidable military strength. Mikasa Sanekiyo, originally born into the Sakune family, was adopted after the deaths of his parents and grandparents. He deeply admires his adoptive older brother, Mitsukiyo, an accomplished military commander who serves as his moral and emotional anchor. Inspired by Mitsukiyo’s example, Sanekiyo enrolls in the naval academy and earns the top rank in his class. However, his early triumphs quickly give way to harsh realities. Sanekiyo soon discovers the deep-seated prejudice the Akitsu majority harbors against the other two races, coupled with the grueling demands of military training. To realize his ultimate ambition of commanding the navy fleet, he must navigate systemic discrimination, endure relentless trials, and forge himself into the exceptional leader Tsushima needs.
