In the aftermath of the Lich War, the Heavenly Emperor Haotian and Yaochi, the Gathering Immortals Banner holder, jointly govern the Heavenly Court, with Haotian ruling over all gods and Yaochi over all immortals. Li Taibai, a skilled strategist, serves as Yaochi's chief advisor. When Haotian invites Yaochi to a Peach Banquet, Li Taibai advises against it, warning that it would tarnish Yaochi's reputation and incur the wrath of the saints. Instead, Li Taibai suggests that Yaochi build a temple to honor the Dao Ancestor, thereby establishing a connection with the root of all immortals and solidifying his rule over them.
