Alongside his loyal assistant, Melia, Sain enrolls in an academy within a foreign kingdom, where his stubborn insistence on wearing a custom, all-black uniform quickly earns him the reputation of a deviant among his peers. Sain is not the only outsider in his new environment. Alicia, a member of the prestigious Clan of Light who is restricted entirely to fire magic, faces similar ostracization, prompting the two to form a swift alliance. When Alicia proposes venturing into the dangerous labyrinth beneath the school to search for a legendary holy sword, Sain reveals a conflicting ambition: to unearth a sword of absolute doom.
