Hagure Narihira is a quintessential hopeless romantic navigating his sophomore year at a prestigious high school dedicated to training individuals with extraordinary magical abilities. Unfortunately, his high school experience is far from ideal. Burdened by profound isolation, he completely lacks friends, a predicament largely stemming from his lackluster and unwanted supernatural power. His ability, known as "drain," passively and unconsciously absorbs the vital human energy of anyone who ventures within a one-meter radius of him. Because this hazardous power activates entirely beyond his control, his peers actively avoid him out of fear and self-preservation. Consequently, forming normal social bonds—let alone finding a romantic partner—remains an impossible dream for Narihira as he navigates his lonely academic life.
