Ame no Yakusoku

Adapted by Rin Ogata from Anne Stuart's novel Heart's Ease, Ame no Yakusoku follows Cassandra O'Neill, a dedicated researcher whose life unravels after she is wrongfully accused of falsifying laboratory results. Known for her meticulous standards, Cassie is devastated when her colleagues readily accept the allegations without giving her the chance to defend herself. The professional betrayal leaves her deeply wounded and isolated just as a personal crisis emerges. Her distress intensifies when she learns that her devoted friend Meredith has been involved in a severe car accident. Abandoning everything else, Cassie immediately flies to Virginia to be by her side. Upon arrival, she is met at the airport by Meredith's brother, Bran, who greets her with an unmistakable air of suspicion. His demeanor suggests an immediate, almost instinctive hostility toward her, leaving Cassie unsettled and uncertain of his intentions. Yet beneath his guarded exterior lies a deeper truth, one whose revelation will profoundly alter the course of her life in ways she could never have anticipated.
