Summary

Official Details
The Onmyou Taisenki manga presents a narrative entirely distinct from its anime counterpart, unfolding years before the events depicted in the animated series. The story centers on Yakumo, the son of Monju, who serves as the chief priest of the Taihaku Shrine. Hidden within the sacred grounds of this shrine is Mahoroba, a dangerous figure and Monju's former mentor, who has long been kept imprisoned. The fragile peace shatters when Mahoroba finally breaks free, seizing immense power and turning Monju to stone as a devastating display of his newfound strength. Thrust into an overwhelming conflict, Yakumo must quickly adapt to survive. He takes his first tentative steps into the world of onmyouji by learning to command a Shikigami, guided through rigorous training by Izuna, the resident miko of the Taihaku Shrine. His desperate quest to track down and confront Mahoroba propels him across various pivotal eras of Japanese history. Throughout this extraordinary journey, Yakumo encounters legendary historical figures, including the infamous warlord Oda Nobunaga, weaving a rich tapestry of supernatural battles set against the backdrop of Japan's most turbulent periods.
