TOUKEN RANBU KAI KYODEN

A new sword suddenly manifests within the citadel, disrupting the fragile peace among its inhabitants. The newcomer is Fudou Yukimitsu, a blade once wielded by the legendary Sengoku-era commander Oda Nobunaga and later entrusted to his loyal attendant, Mori Ranmaru. Unapologetically proud of his status as Nobunaga’s cherished weapon, Fudou Yukimitsu immediately sparks friction with Souza Samonji, Heshikiri Hasebe, and Yagen Toushirou—three other swords who also served the same warlord. As tensions escalate and the citadel descends into disarray, the appointed team captain, Yamanbagiri Kunihiro, faces the daunting challenge of restoring order and uniting his fractured comrades. Amid this internal turmoil, the Saniwa receives an urgent directive that demands immediate action. The team must travel back to the year 1582 to intervene in the infamous Honnou-ji Incident, the fateful historical event where Oda Nobunaga met his tragic end. For several of these swords, confronting the downfall of their former master promises to test their loyalties and resolve like never before. The anime adaptation was scripted and supervised by Kenichi Suemitsu, who originally directed and wrote the source stage play.
