The Boxfish and the Sea of Minamata

Plagued by a deep lack of self-confidence, a solitary boxfish spends his days isolated upon the ocean rocks. Rather than exploring the vibrant waters around him, he remains anchored to the same spot, endlessly drifting back and forth while watching the other sea creatures with quiet envy. Convinced that everyone else is far luckier than he is, the boxfish resigns himself to a monotonous existence, believing his life will never amount to anything more than idle observation from his rocky perch. His uneventful routine is unexpectedly disrupted when he encounters a lost seahorse who appears to have wandered far from home, originating from the distant waters of the Minamata sea. Moved by the small creature's plight, the boxfish makes a life-altering decision. Stepping beyond his fears and self-doubt for the very first time, he resolves to embark on an unprecedented adventure. Leaving the only rocks he has ever known behind, he sets out across the open ocean on a heartfelt mission to guide the lost seahorse safely back to the Sea of Minamata.
