Hirose Itsuki is a pragmatic high school girl who has deliberately shielded herself from unrealistic hopes and dreams, terrified of the emotional pain that inevitably follows disappointment. Her carefully guarded routine is disrupted when Hino, the school’s celebrated star basketball player, finds himself sidelined by an unexpected injury. Searching for a distraction during his recovery, he approaches Itsuki with a simple question about how to pass the time, sparking an unlikely connection between them. What begins as casual study sessions gradually blossoms into genuine closeness. However, their fragile bond shatters when Hino, in a moment of vulnerability, confesses his true feelings. Overwhelmed by her deep-seated fear of getting hurt, Itsuki panics and runs away, causing the two to drift apart in silence. Months pass before fate intervenes once more. The pair finally crosses paths again, not as high school students, but as newly enrolled medical students at the same university, leaving them to confront the unresolved emotions they left behind.
