In his previous life, Ma Jiasheng was a cold-hearted and morally corrupt Great Master. Reborn in the modern era as Ma Lanyin, he has left that dark past behind to live a quiet, unremarkable life as a minor actor who simply enjoys his craft. To his absolute dismay, the agreement requires him to collaborate directly with Lu Huan, a former enemy from his past life who also happens to be cast in the role of his historical self. Trapped by the bizarre terms of the deal, Ma Lanyin desperately seeks a way out, furious at the prospect of working alongside someone tied to his complicated history. Yet Lu Huan refuses to let him escape so easily, reminding him that the karmic ties binding their past and present lives cannot be broken.
