Lan Ke Qi Yuan

Beneath an ancient tree, fallen leaves slowly gathered upon a forgotten go board. For ages, no opponent ever arrived to challenge the waiting player, who studied the stones in endless contemplation of the perfect move. Lost in this quiet obsession, centuries slipped away unnoticed until the very oceans and mountains grew old around him. When Ji Yuan finally stirred from his profound slumber, he discovered that the world had changed beyond recognition—and so had he. Stripped of his former self, he now inhabited the frail body of a half-blind beggar taking refuge within the crumbling walls of an abandoned temple. With failing sight and no resources, survival in this harsh new reality seemed impossible for someone reduced to such pitiful circumstances. Yet desperation breeds adaptation. While a true warrior relies on the strength of his blade to carve a path through adversity, a man without power must depend entirely on his silver tongue. Embracing the cunning of a con artist rather than the honor of a swordsman, Ji Yuan resolves to use nothing but his wits and words to navigate his dire situation and endure in a world that has long since left him behind.
