King of the Arena

First-year student Gil-Su Lee transfers to a new school hoping to escape a painful past defined by relentless bullying and violence. He arrives desperate for a fresh start, seeking an environment where he can finally feel safe. At first glance, his new school appears to be the perfect sanctuary. His classmates are remarkably friendly and kind, and there is no trace of the cruelty he once endured. The hallways seem peaceful, and no one raises a hand against another. However, this idyllic atmosphere hides a strict and unspoken rule. While open hostility is entirely absent from the classrooms, violence has not been eradicated—it has simply been relocated. All conflicts are settled in a designated space known as the Arena. The students make it clear that what happens within the school walls remains peaceful, but inside the ring, a different set of rules applies. As Gil-Su quickly learns, whatever takes place during these matches must stay confined to the Arena, forcing him to confront whether he can truly leave his violent past behind or if he will have to fight once again to survive.
