Monster Diner

Monsters live secretly among humanity, concealed within the everyday world. Despite their hidden existence, the majority strictly adhere to an ancient code of conduct from their own realm, forbidding them from preying upon or harming humans. Yet, much like the people they live alongside, monsters still require sustenance to survive. To meet this fundamental need, a network of clandestine eateries operates in the inconspicuous corners of cities, opening their doors exclusively after dark to serve a supernatural clientele seeking a safe place to dine. Among these hidden establishments, one diner stands out as truly exceptional. Its proprietor is not a monster, but a human woman named Taozi. Born into a distinguished family of chefs, she possesses remarkable culinary skills inherited from her lineage. However, her talents present a unique dilemma: despite her rigorous training and human heritage, her cooking appeals only to monstrous palates. Ordinary humans find no satisfaction in her dishes, leaving her with a highly specialized craft that can only be appreciated by creatures of the night. Operating this extraordinary late-night restaurant, Taozi navigates the delicate boundary between two worlds, serving meals to a diverse array of monsters while maintaining the fragile peace that keeps both societies apart.
