Umineko no Naku Koro ni Episode 4: Alliance of the Golden Witch

In the aftermath of the 1986 Ushiromiya family conference, Battler’s younger sister, Ange, emerges as a central figure in the unfolding tragedy. Having been absent from the fateful gathering on Rokkenjima, she is left to navigate a world shattered by loss when Eva, the sole survivor of the mass murders, takes her in. This new chapter elevates Ange to the role of secondary protagonist, thrusting her into the long shadow cast by the devastating incident that claimed her entire family. The narrative structure masterfully alternates between the supernatural conflicts occurring on the gameboard and the harsh realities of the outside world. Through this dual perspective, readers witness the profound psychological toll the Rokkenjima incident exacts on Ange’s life as she struggles to find her place in the wake of unimaginable grief. Her journey toward understanding becomes deeply intertwined with the legacy of her cousin Maria. By uncovering and reading through Maria’s diary, Ange begins to explore their shared connection to magic, seeking answers and solace within its pages while confronting the lingering mysteries of the Golden Witch.
