Rebirth in the Ruins

A thick fog sweeps over the city, hordes of zombies roam the streets, and mutated beasts roam the wasteland. In a past life, Jiang Chen, a man consumed by hatred, was betrayed by his brother, Lan Huo, and his lover, Su Ya, who stole the powerful space-energy crystal they had fought to obtain. Jiang Chen was dragged into the zombie hordes and met a brutal end. Resurrected with a burning desire for revenge, Jiang Chen returns to the world 18 days before the apocalypse. With a newfound determination, he sells off all his assets and frantically stockpiles resources to build an unbreachable fortress atop a skyscraper. Jiang Chen establishes a strict rule: he will never submit to the corrupt government bases, and he will not take in refugees indiscriminately. In a world where only self-interest can be a currency for survival, Jiang Chen sets out to build a team of reliable members who can contribute value to the group. He carefully selects a core team of 5-6 members, a periphery of 3-4 members, and caps the team size at 10. Anyone who wants to join must have something to offer. Lan Huo and Su Ya, Jiang Chen's brother and lover, respectively, are on a mission to gather lost souls, surviving by plundering and betraying others. They have repeatedly attempted to attack Jiang Chen's fortress, but have been consistently thwarted. As Jiang Chen expands his team, he begins to uncover the truth behind the origin of the apocalypse: a secret human experiment gone wrong. When the desperate Lan Huo and Su Ya form an alliance with the government's armed forces to launch a massive assault on the fortress, Jiang Chen will lead his handpicked team to settle old scores and take control of the wasteland once and for all.
