Inai Boku wa Hotarumachi ni Iru

Overwhelmed by grief following the sudden death of his closest friend, Takuya, Takeru finds himself unable to move forward. In a moment of desperate longing, he makes a heartfelt wish upon a shooting star, asking for just one final chance to see Takuya again. That night, a faint glimmer of light catches his attention, guiding him toward an ancient tree stump marked by a massive, hollow opening. What lies beyond defies all logic—the hollow serves as a gateway into an entire hidden city. Stepping through, Takeru discovers that this strange new world is a perfect mirror of his own hometown. The streets are familiar, the landmarks are identical, and the very same people go about their daily lives. However, beneath this eerie familiarity lies one profound difference: in this parallel version of reality, Takuya is alive and well. The cruel twist of this mirrored existence, however, is that Takeru himself does not exist here. Now caught between two versions of the same world, Takeru must navigate the emotional weight of seeing his best friend breathing once more while confronting the unsettling truth that he has no place in this reality.
