Mahou Tsukai to Koi no Biyaku

Offering a compelling reinterpretation of classic fairytale conventions, Mahou Tsukai to Koi no Biyaku follows the journey of a gifted wizard who endures relentless persecution from the world around him. Despite his remarkable magical abilities, he is treated as an outcast, forced to navigate a society that fears and rejects his very existence. His life, however, is anchored by a single meaningful connection forged several years prior, when he intervened to save a young girl from harm. That fleeting encounter left a lasting impression on him, becoming a rare source of warmth in an otherwise hostile reality. Driven by the enduring memory of the girl he rescued long ago, the marginalized spellcaster ultimately channels his talents into crafting a love potion specifically intended for her. This deeply personal endeavor transforms a familiar fantasy motif into an intimate character study, exploring the emotional complexities of a man who has known only rejection yet still chooses to reach out through the language of magic. The one-shot examines the fragile boundary between devotion and desperation, questioning what it truly means to seek affection when the world has offered nothing but cruelty.
