Set within the expansive universe of The Adventure of Dai, this short story explores the profound bond between heroes and their most trusted mages. Matoriv served as the steadfast magical companion to Avan, while Popp followed in those footsteps as the devoted mage fighting alongside Dai. Though separated by time and circumstance, both men share a remarkable parallel in their unwavering dedication to the cause of justice. Through the granting of these daggers, Avan and Dai each honored their mages with a token of absolute trust and respect. The story delves into the significance of these weapons, illustrating how the bond between a hero and a mage transcends mere battlefield alliance. It is a testament to mutual reliance, proving that even those who wield magic rather than swords can stand as equals beside the world's greatest champions.
