Three years have passed since a violent revolution overthrew the monarchy, leaving the former royal family in ruins. Princess Lien, who has spent those years confined in an underground prison, is suddenly summoned by the new Emperor’s decree. Rather than granting her freedom, the order forces her into a political marriage with Duke Lishian of Roche-Noire, binding her fate to a powerful noble in a fragile new era. For as long as she can remember, Lien has retreated into a self-imposed abyss whenever faced with the harsh judgments of others, hiding from a world that stripped away her title and dignity. Yet, through her unexpected union with the Duke, she begins to experience something entirely foreign: genuine love and unwavering solidarity. As they navigate the treacherous political landscape together, Lien is finally forced to confront her true self rather than fleeing from it. Walking side by side while gazing toward the same distant star, Lien and Lishian forge a bond that defies the cruel circumstances of their meeting. Through him, she discovers for the first time that promises built on trust are far stronger than any predetermined fate. Ultimately, they become each other’s most radiant homecoming, finding solace not in the fallen kingdom they left behind, but in the unbreakable connection they build together.
