Heisei Wotaku Remembers

The year is 2006, an era defined by harsh social stigma where simply identifying as an otaku invited widespread ridicule and disdain. During this unforgiving period, often remembered by fans as the "Otaku Ice Age," those who embraced anime, manga, and gaming culture were forced to navigate a society that openly looked down upon their passions. It was a time when hiding one's true interests felt like a necessity for survival, leaving many to quietly endure the prejudice of a world that refused to understand them. For one man who lived through the bitter chill of that era, the past is no longer just a memory. Through an inexplicable twist of fate, he finds himself suddenly transported back in time to the very days he once struggled to endure. Armed with the knowledge and perspective of his older self, he is thrust into a world on the cusp of massive cultural shifts within the fandom community. This unexpected journey offers him far more than a simple trip down memory lane. It presents a profound second chance to reclaim the youth he feels he lost to societal pressure and personal regret. No longer bound by the fear of judgment that defined his original timeline, he now has the opportunity to fully embrace his identity, relive his most cherished experiences, and rewrite his own history as an otaku without apology.
