Flying Witch

Makoto Kowata is a young, novice witch standing on the threshold of her magical education. To complete her training and earn the title of a full-fledged witch, she must leave behind everything familiar and venture far from home. Accompanied by her loyal black cat familiar, Makoto packs up her belongings and embarks on a journey that will shape both her abilities and her future. Her destination is the quiet, rural expanse of Aomori Prefecture, located in the far northern reaches of Japan. There, she moves in with her distant cousins, trading the predictable rhythms of her past for an entirely new way of life. Surrounded by lush countryside and the gentle pace of provincial living, Makoto begins the next chapter of her apprenticeship. In this serene setting, the everyday world quietly intertwines with the subtle art of witchcraft. As she settles into her temporary home among relatives, Makoto faces the personal challenge of growing into her powers while adapting to an unfamiliar environment. Her time in Aomori becomes not only a period of rigorous magical study but also a journey of self-discovery, as she learns what it truly means to be a witch.
